Joining us on this summery spectacular episode is site contributor Tyler Peterson, whose grump pick is bound to ruffle a few feathers. Tyler takes on the idea of nostalgia and the freedom of youth as he brings us Richard Linklater’s 1993 pop-cult sensation, Dazed And Confused. It’s a “one night only” coming of age story in which no one really learns anything except the ’70s kinda suck.
As his alternate, Tyler brings us the “spiritual sequel” to Dazed And Confused — another Linklater offering — 2016’s Everybody Wants Some!! Still somewhat steeped in nostalgia, this early ’80s update follows a college baseball team as they traverse through various dance clubs and parties, just hanging out, chatting up girls, playing bloody knuckles, and talking their own idiosyncratic philosophies. Oh, and there’s some baseball. That’s fun.
